Cameroon finished on top spot, in the 2023 edition of Douala International Athletics Grand Prix, that took place on Sunday, March 26,2023 in Douala.<\/p>\n
The Douala international athletics showpiece, brought together a total number of sixteen African Countries and foreigners.<\/p>\n
Some of these participatory countries were; Gambia,Niger, Togo, Burkina Faso, Kenya, host Cameroon, Congo, Ethiopia, Djibouti and France.<\/p>\n
Both men and women athletes, all competed in High Jump, long jump,lifting, triple jump and in hurdles.<\/p>\n
Team Cameroon succeeded in grabbing a total number of 28 medals, with the 29-year-old International sprinter Esseme Emmanuel Alobwede emerging overall best athlete. Alongside his Gambia counter part Gina Bass.<\/p>\n
The competition has as objective to prepare the athletes for the upcoming international athletics competitions. As well as, serves as a preparation phase for the Paris 2024 Olympics.<\/p>\n
