Renaissance’s Jean Paul Ndongo banned for assaulting match officials<\/p>\n
Wednesday, March 21, the homologation and disciplinary commission of the Cameroon football federation (FECAFOOT) has banned Renaissance of Ngoumou goalkeeper Jean Paul Ndongo for attacking Referee Souleymane Bah during their match day 13 game earlier this year.<\/p>\n
Mr Bah was lynched after the final whistle of the game with claims that he made calls that impacted the outcome of the game.<\/p>\n
The commission has confirmed the Renaissance number 12 who was sent off during the incident gets an additional 15 games sanction for bridging article 12 subsection one of the laws of the game.<\/p>\n
“The Committee, ruling on homologation and discipline, and with the unanimous agreement of the members present<\/p>\n
– Declares that by punching the referee of the match between his team and Stade Renard of Melong, the player of Renaissance FC De Ngoumou, named Paul Jean Ndongo, number 12, was guilty of the offence of improper conduct of a player and official as provided for and punished by article 12 paragraph 1 (k) of the FECAFOOT Disciplinary Code; Consequently, orders his suspension for the next fifteen (15) matches, not including the one for which he is already excluded due to the red card given by red card given by the referee of the said match;<\/p>\n
Informs the person concerned that he\/she has a period of ten (10) days from receipt of the notification of this decision to request the reasons for it.<\/p>\n
However, if the reasons are not requested within the time limit, the decision shall become final and binding and he shall be deemed to have waived his right to appeal in accordance with article 51 paragraph 3 of the FECAFOOT Disciplinary Code of 13 July 2021,” the commission’s decision read.<\/p>\n
The concerned has been given ten days to appeal the decision if he is not satisfied with the decision.<\/p>\n
This incident is not isolated as in recent times a number of match officials have been attacked by club officials and players for varied reasons.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
