{"id":4546,"date":"2023-03-09T22:42:35","date_gmt":"2023-03-09T22:42:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/?p=4546"},"modified":"2023-03-09T22:42:35","modified_gmt":"2023-03-09T22:42:35","slug":"stanley-eguma-shower-praises-on-motema-despite-easy-rivers-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/fr\/stanley-eguma-shower-praises-on-motema-despite-easy-rivers-win\/","title":{"rendered":"Stanley Eguma shower praises on Motema despite easy Rivers win"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rivers United FC of Nigeria manager Stanley Eguma has commended the quality of DC Motema Pembe this Thursday despite helping his side to a comfortable win against the Congolese visitors.<\/p>\n<p>The Pride of Rivers moved closer to the quarter-final with a convincing 3-1 win at Godswill Akpabio international stadium in Uyo.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Acquah dispatched three dead-eye finishes for his first CAF interclub competitions hat trick as Rivers United FC saw off Daring Club Motema Pembe 3-1 to move to top spot in the Group C in the CAF Confederation Cup this Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Though the Congolese were second best at least per the score, Eguma had some kind words for them while pointing out what made the difference.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur opponents played well today but our tactical plans gave us maximum points today,&#8221; Eguma said during the post-match conference.<\/p>\n<p>Ghanaian import Acquah who scored his first goal in additional time in the first-half then rifled in an unstoppable left-footed strike in second half borrowed time to make it three goals in the afternoon al worked well for the hosts at the Godswill Akpabio international stadium.<\/p>\n<p>The game initially scheduled on Wednesday was played this Thursday because the Congolese had logistics challenges which prevented them from getting to Nigeria earlier.<\/p>\n<p>The deferred Match Day four fixture triumph puts Rivers United in the driving seat in the race to reach the quarter-final as they now top Group C with nine points.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Copyright\u00a92023 kick442.com<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>All rights reserved.
