Indomitable Lions of Cameroon defender Christopher Maurice Wooh has dismissed claims that they may have it easier on Friday when they face the Selecao of Brazil in the third group G game of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n
The France-based sweeper on the books of Stade Rennes squashed comments of a weakened Brazil side during an interaction with the media on Wednesday as they intensify training for the crucial fixture.<\/p>\n
Brazil will be without record man Neymar Jr, Alex Sandro, Vinicius Jnr and Danilo when they confront eternal rivals Cameroon but per Wooh, suggestions of Brazil being weakened by these absences are unfounded.<\/p>\n
“We know the Brazilian players have quality, so injuries doesn’t change a thing. It’s a World Cup game. We have to be ready for whoever is playing for Brazil,” Wooh explained.<\/p>\n
Wooh, 21, is also in contention for his first start in the World Cup and a competitive game for the Indomitable Lions after watching games against Switzerland and Serbia as a substitute.<\/p>\n
The 10PM clash at the Lusail Stadium is a formality fixture for coach Tite’s Brazil as the six points accumulated in the opening two games have secured status as group winners irrespective of the results against Cameroon.<\/p>\n
Wooh and his colleagues don’t have room for error. Cameroon needs to beat Brazil and hope Serbia beats Switzerland by an inferior margin or draw by less than two goals apiece to advance to the last 16th.<\/p>\n
Brazil could make up to ten changes from the side that defeated Switzerland on Monday but Wooh has simply refused to get carried away by that.<\/p>\n
Even with a changed team, Brazil could start with XI players who can be regular at any World Cup tournament if not that they were born in Brazil or by Brazilians.<\/p>\n
