Super Falcons players over the weekend put on superb performance for their clubs.<\/p>\n

We take a look at the shinning lights of the weekend.<\/p>\n

SPAIN<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monday Gift (Granadilla Tenerife)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Nigeria forward bagged an assist to help Spanish Liga F side, Granadilla Tenerife to a 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Bilbao ahead of the match had suffered three straight defeats in the top-flight Spanish women’s football league.<\/p>\n

UDG Tenerife on its part had a big loss to league Champions, FC Barcelona Femeni the last time in the league and hoped to return to winning ways.<\/p>\n

Gift whose only goal for UDG Tenerife came in the Copa de la Reina when her team defeated Fundacion Tenerife 4-0.<\/p>\n

The former FC Robo Queens captain in the 23rd minute set up Belgian midfielder Jassina Blom who converted the solitary goal of the game.<\/p>\n

Monday started the game and lasted for the 63rd minute before she was replaced by Perez Gonzalez.<\/p>\n

The assist was her first in the league since joining the Spanish side from Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, FC Robo Queens.<\/p>\n

The defeat ensured that UDG Tenerife returned to winning ways after the defeat to FC Barcelona Femeni while Athletic Bilbao succumbed to its fourth straight loss of the campaign.<\/p>\n

The team occupy the ninth position on the league table with 20 points after 17 games.<\/p>\n

The next league encounter for UDG Tenerife is a clash with Real Madrid on February 8.<\/p>\n

Asisat Oshoala (FC Barcelona Femeni)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Nigerian forward was once again on the goal scorer’s list as Spanish Liga F Champions, FC Barcelona Femeni thrashed Betis 7-0 on Sunday in a league encounter.<\/p>\n

Brazilian forward Geyse opened the scoring for the Catalan side in the 14th minute of play.<\/p>\n

England International, Keira Walsh double Jonatan Giraldez’s side’s lead in the 38th minute with her goal for the runaway league leaders.<\/p>\n

Three minutes into the second half, Claudia Pina made it 3-0 before the introduction of Asisat Oshoala into the fray.<\/p>\n

Oshoala increased her side’s lead to four in the 61st minute as she tapped into an empty net Fridolina Rolfo’s cross from the left wing.<\/p>\n

Mariona Caldentey in the 64th minute converted the host’s fifth goal.<\/p>\n

Another cross from Rolfo set up Oshoala who scored her second goal of the game in the 77th minute.<\/p>\n

The five-time African Player of the year completed her hat trick in the additional minutes of the second half.<\/p>\n

The former FC Robo Queens player replaced Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic in the 59th minute before scoring her second-half hat trick.<\/p>\n

The hat trick took Oshoala’s goal tally to 17 in the league this season as she moved to the top of the goal scorers’ chat ahead of Levante’s Redondo Ferer who is a goal shy of the Nigerian.<\/p>\n

Barcelona tops the log with a maximum of 54 points after 18 league games.<\/p>\n

Up next for the former European Champions is an away clash with Deportivo Alaves on February 11.<\/p>\n

PORTUGAL<\/strong>
\nChristy Ucheibe (SL Benfica)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Nigeria midfielder bagged an assist as her Portuguese Liga BPI Women’s side, SL Benfica thrashed Albergaria\/ Durit 9-0 on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The league Champions had previously defeated Maritimo 4-1 while Albergaria played out a 1-1 draw with Torreense.<\/p>\n

Jessica Silva started the rout with the first goal of the match in the 15th minute.<\/p>\n

The Portuguese forward also headed in the host’s second eleven minutes later.<\/p>\n

Goals from Marta Cintra and Ana Vitoria made it 4-0 before Albergaria’s defender handled the ball in the box leading to a penalty to Benfica.<\/p>\n

Canada’s Cloe Lacasse didn’t miss as she converted the host’s fifth goal from the penalty spot.<\/p>\n

After the interval, Nycole Raysla Silva Sobrinho made it 6-0.<\/p>\n

Ucheibe in the 78th minute set up Beatriz Nogueira whose right-footed shot hit the back of the net.<\/p>\n

Two more goals from Nogueira and Francisca Nazareth ended the rout.<\/p>\n

Ucheibe who didn’t start the match was a half-time substitute when he came off the bench to provide an assist for her side’s seventh goal.<\/p>\n

SL Benfica tops the league log with 39 points after 13 games, ten games better than Braga.<\/p>\n

Sporting will be Ucheibe’s side’s next opponent in the league on February 8.<\/p>\n
