Cameroon midfielder Carlos Baleba is a major doubt for the Indomitable Lions’ November 2026 international assignment after suffering an injury during Manchester United’s UEFA Champions League encounter against AS Roma on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old was forced off shortly after half-time, in the 48th minute, after appearing to experience pain at the back of his thigh. He was subsequently replaced by Youri Tielemans.<\/p>\n

Initial reports suggest a possible hamstring injury, although the exact nature and severity of the problem are yet to be confirmed through medical examinations.<\/p>\n

The timing is particularly unfortunate for Cameroon head coach David Pagou, who had recalled Baleba to the national team after the midfielder missed the previous international window through injury. He was included in the 28-man squad announced on October 26 for Cameroon’s two AFCON 2027 qualifying matches against Namibia.<\/p>\n

Cameroon are scheduled to host Namibia on November 12 before travelling for the return encounter on November 16. Baleba’s potential absence would leave Pagou with an important decision to make in reorganising his midfield, particularly given the Manchester United player’s importance to the team’s ball-winning and transition play.<\/p>\n

For now, the Indomitable Lions will have to wait for Manchester United’s medical assessment before determining whether the former Brighton midfielder can join the November camp.<\/p>\n
