Cameroonian goalkeeper Frank Ipoua Vikoty is on the verge of joining Equatorial Guinean champions 15 Agosto, with the 21-year-old expected to sign a two-year contract ahead of the club\u2019s CAF Champions League campaign.<\/p>\n

The proposed move would take Ipoua into a new chapter of his career, while offering him the opportunity to compete on the continental stage with a club representing Equatorial Guinea in Africa\u2019s premier club competition.<\/p>\n

15 Agosto are set to face Comoros side Fomboni FC this Friday at the Amadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaound\u00e9 in their CAF Champions League opener.<\/p>\n

From Lausanne to Canon<\/p>\n

Ipoua began his career with Lausanne in the MTN Elite Two before enjoying an important spell with ISOHSA during the 2022-23 season.<\/p>\n

He was part of the ISOHSA side that reached the semi-finals of the Cup of Cameroon, while the club also finished fifth in the MTN Elite Two championship.<\/p>\n

The campaign represented an important stage in Ipoua\u2019s development and helped establish him as one of the promising young goalkeepers in Cameroonian football.<\/p>\n

He subsequently joined Canon Yaound\u00e9, where he spent two seasons, including the 2025-26 campaign.<\/p>\n

Away from the professional game, Ipoua was also part of the Back Council FC team that won the 2026 Tiko The Best Interquarters Competition.<\/p>\n

A family connection to Equatorial Guinea<\/p>\n

Ipoua\u2019s potential move to Equatorial Guinea carries an added personal dimension.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old is of Cameroonian-Equatorial Guinean heritage, while his brother is a full international goalkeeper for the Equatorial Guinea national team.<\/p>\n

That family connection gives Ipoua a natural link to the country where he could soon continue his professional career.<\/p>\n

Champions League opportunity awaits<\/p>\n

The timing of the potential transfer could hardly be more significant.<\/p>\n

15 Agosto will begin their CAF Champions League campaign against Fomboni FC at the Amadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaound\u00e9 this Friday.<\/p>\n
