Organisers say the competition is designed to use sport as a tool for unity and social transformation.<\/p>\n<p>One of the major highlights of the 2026 edition is the commitment by donor Chi Chinda Chido Mitterand Francois to finance the construction of two water boreholes for communities within Santa Subdivision. The initiative is expected to improve access to potable water for residents while leaving a tangible legacy beyond football.<\/p>\n<p>Chido is a well-known sports administrator in Cameroon and currently serves as the president of Yong Sports Academy (YOSA) of Bamenda, one of the country\u2019s most prominent football clubs. He has been an outspoken figure in Cameroonian football affairs and has consistently advocated for fairness and professionalism within the domestic game.<\/p>\n<p>In another innovation, the championship will introduce women\u2019s football for the first time, providing female athletes in Santa with a platform to showcase their talents.
