{"id":28591,"date":"2026-05-25T14:13:16","date_gmt":"2026-05-25T14:13:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/?p=28591"},"modified":"2026-05-25T14:13:16","modified_gmt":"2026-05-25T14:13:16","slug":"cnosc-gregoire-owona-steps-in-after-the-death-of-hamad-kalkaba-malboum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/fr\/cnosc-gregoire-owona-steps-in-after-the-death-of-hamad-kalkaba-malboum\/","title":{"rendered":"CNOSC: Gr\u00e9goire Owona steps in after the death of Hamad Kalkaba Malboum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>By Angu Lesley<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSC) has officially announced a major reorganisation within its executive bureau following the death of its long-serving president, Colonel Hamad Kalkaba Malboum.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200bDuring an extraordinary session of the Board of Directors held on May 25, 2026 in Yaound\u00e9 under the chairmanship of First Vice President Gr\u00e9goire Owona, members unanimously adopted a series of resolutions aimed at ensuring continuity within the institution.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200bAccording to the resolutions published after the meeting, the Board formally acknowledged the vacancy at the presidency of the CNOSC following the death of Colonel Hamad Kalkaba Malboum on May 13, 2026.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200bIn line with Article 70 of the statutes of the organisation, Gr\u00e9goire Owona, who previously served as First Vice President, has now taken over as President of the CNOSC pending the organisation of an elective General Assembly.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200bThe reshuffle within the executive structure also saw Madame Ntsama Assembe \u00e9pouse Engoulou C\u00e9lestine Odette elevated to the position of First Vice President, while Talba Malla Ibrahim becomes Second Vice President.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200bThe Board equally confirmed that the post of Third Vice President is currently vacant and will be filled during a future administrative session in accordance with the statutes of the committee.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200bThe newly configured Executive Bureau of the CNOSC is now composed as follows:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200b<b>President:<\/b> Gr\u00e9goire Owona<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200b<b>First Vice President:<\/b> Ntsama Assembe \u00e9pouse Engoulou C\u00e9lestine Odette<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200b<b>Second Vice President:<\/b> Talba Malla Ibrahim<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200b<b>Third Vice President:<\/b> Vacant<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200b<b>Secretary General:<\/b> David Ojong<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200b<b>Treasurer General:<\/b> Timba Major\u00e9 Louis<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n\u200bThe Board also granted full administrative and management powers to the new president to oversee the functioning of the institution.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200bMeanwhile, the CNOSC announced that an official homage ceremony in honour of the late Hamad Kalkaba Malboum will be organised on July 4, 2026.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200bColonel Hamad Kalkaba Malboum was one of the most influential figures in Cameroonian and African sports administration, having led the Olympic movement in Cameroon for decades while also serving in several continental and international sporting bodies.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Angu Lesley The Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSC) has officially announced&hellip;<\/p>","protected":false},"author":9,"featured_media":28594,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[217,26,139],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-28591","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-athletics","category-exclusive","category-featured"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.1.1 -
