{"id":27035,"date":"2026-01-20T19:00:31","date_gmt":"2026-01-20T19:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/?p=27035"},"modified":"2026-01-20T19:00:31","modified_gmt":"2026-01-20T19:00:31","slug":"hakimi-pays-tribute-to-fans-after-near-miss-afcon-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/fr\/hakimi-pays-tribute-to-fans-after-near-miss-afcon-campaign\/","title":{"rendered":"Hakimi pays tribute to fans after near miss AFCON campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Angu Lesley<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Achraf Hakimi has paid tribute to Morocco\u2019s leadership, football authorities, and supporters following the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations, describing the tournament as a defining moment for Moroccan football despite the disappointment of the final outcome.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a message posted on Instagram after what he called \u201ca very difficult few days,\u201d the Paris Saint-Germain defender reflected on the national team\u2019s AFCON campaign, which saw Morocco emerge as one of the standout sides of the tournament, carried by strong performances, unity within the squad, and unprecedented public support.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hakimi began by praising King Mohammed VI for Morocco\u2019s role in hosting the competition, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I would like to first thank His Majesty, for the immense work done to make this Africa Cup, undoubtedly, the best in history, organized in our country.\u201d He also highlighted the support of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, adding: \u201cThanks also to our President Fouzi Lekjaa, for his total commitment to this selection and for believing in us every step of the way.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old placed particular emphasis on the backing of supporters throughout the tournament, both inside stadiums and across the Moroccan diaspora. \u201cYou\u2019ve been our twelfth man, our strength when legs were heavy and hearts were aching,\u201d Hakimi wrote. \u201cWe felt your support in Morocco and every corner of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on the team\u2019s journey, Hakimi underlined the intensity of the competition and the cohesion within the squad, noting: \u201c35 days of living together, constant effort, discipline and unity.\u201d He added that the team had shown that \u201cMorocco is not content to compete: Morocco inspires.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Despite falling short of lifting the trophy, Hakimi said the campaign had strengthened Morocco\u2019s status on the continental and global stage. \u201cToday, this Moroccan team has become a strong, respected and admired team,\u201d he said, describing it as a reflection of \u201ca country that moves forward with confidence and shows the world that it is one of the great nations of football.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hakimi concluded by looking ahead, insisting the experience would serve as a foundation for future success. \u201cThe road doesn\u2019t stop here,\u201d he wrote. \u201cWith this mindset, union and ambition, there\u2019s no limit to what this selection can achieve.\u201d<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Angu Lesley Achraf Hakimi has paid tribute to Morocco\u2019s leadership, football authorities, and&hellip;<\/p>","protected":false},"author":9,"featured_media":27036,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[140,39,213,5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-27035","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-afcon","category-african-football","category-athletes","category-football"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.1.1 -
