Nigeria captain Wilfred Ndidi has pledged to personally cover players\u2019 bonuses if they are not paid by the authorities ahead of the Super Eagles\u2019 upcoming match against Algeria.<\/p>\n

Ndidi made the commitment amid concerns over unpaid bonuses, saying he had taken the step to ensure the team remains focused on preparations and performance.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been pushing the team to train and play the game vs Algeria. I\u2019ve been doing this since the second game,\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ndidi said, according to Nigerian journalist Oluwashina Okeleji.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve now made a commitment to the staff and players that I\u2019ll personally pay the bonuses if the authority fail to before Saturday.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The midfielder\u2019s intervention highlights ongoing challenges around player welfare and remuneration, issues that have periodically affected the Super Eagles in recent years.
