Egypt booked their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup<\/strong> after a commanding 3\u20130 victory over Djibouti<\/strong> on Wednesday evening in Cairo, with Mohamed Salah<\/strong> scoring twice and Ibrahim Adel<\/strong> adding another to seal qualification with a game to spare.<\/p>\n

The result confirms Egypt\u2019s fourth appearance at the World Cup finals<\/strong>, following campaigns in 1934, 1990 and 2018<\/strong> \u2014 and their first since Russia 2018.<\/p>\n

Dominant start from the Pharaohs<\/em><\/h3>\n

In front of a raucous home crowd, Egypt made their intentions clear from the start. The breakthrough came in the 8th minute<\/strong> when Ibrahim Adel<\/strong> latched onto a low cross from Ahmed \u201cZizo\u201d Sayed<\/strong>, steering home a composed finish to calm early nerves.<\/p>\n

Djibouti struggled to contain Egypt\u2019s movement and intensity, and the hosts soon doubled their advantage. In the 14th minute<\/strong>, Mohamed Salah<\/strong> converted clinically from close range after neat build-up play involving Trezeguet<\/strong> and Omar Marmoush<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

From there, Egypt dictated the tempo \u2014 comfortable in possession and patient in attack \u2014 as they closed in on qualification.<\/p>\n

Salah seals it late<\/em><\/h3>\n

After the break, Egypt continued to dominate without overexerting themselves. Djibouti, already out of contention, offered little going forward and relied on their goalkeeper Alhassan Youssouf<\/strong> to keep the score respectable.<\/p>\n

However, Salah ensured the night belonged to him when he struck again in the 84th minute<\/strong>, firing low into the corner from the edge of the box to make it 3\u20130<\/strong> and spark celebrations across Cairo.<\/p>\n

The double took Salah\u2019s tally to four goals in the qualifiers<\/strong>, underlining his continued influence as captain and talisman.<\/p>\n

Acting Egypt coach Mohamed Youssef<\/strong> praised his side\u2019s focus and professionalism after sealing qualification:<\/p>\n
