Trabzonspor are reportedly considering making Andre Onana\u2019s loan move from Manchester United permanent, only weeks after the goalkeeper joined the Turkish club<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old completed a season-long loan to the Super Lig side in August after a challenging first year at Old Trafford. The current deal does not include an option to buy, but Turkish reports suggest Trabzonspor are open to negotiating a permanent transfer depending on his performances.<\/p>\n

Difficult spell at Manchester United<\/p>\n

Onana joined United from Inter Milan in July 2023 for a fee believed to be around \u00a347m, reuniting with former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag.<\/p>\n

The Cameroon international endured a mixed first season in England, producing several standout displays but also facing criticism for high-profile mistakes in the Premier League and Champions League.<\/p>\n

United sanctioned his loan move in the summer to allow him regular football and an opportunity to regain confidence after a turbulent campaign.<\/p>\n

Strong start in Turkey<\/p>\n

Since arriving at Trabzonspor, Onana has made an impressive start, helping the club climb the Super Lig table with a series of assured performances and clean sheets.<\/p>\n

His distribution and composure on the ball \u2014 hallmarks of his game at Ajax \u2014 have drawn praise from teammates and supporters. Local reports claim Trabzonspor\u2019s hierarchy are keen to keep him beyond the current season if financial terms can be agreed.<\/p>\n

United monitoring situation<\/p>\n

Manchester United are said to be following Onana\u2019s progress closely but would likely seek to recover a significant portion of the fee they paid to Inter Milan should any permanent move be discussed.<\/p>\n

The club\u2019s goalkeeping situation remains fluid, with Altay Bay\u0131nd\u0131r and Tom Heaton among those providing depth at Old Trafford. Onana\u2019s form in Turkey could influence United\u2019s future planning in that position.<\/p>\n

Neither club has made an official comment on the possibility of a permanent transfer.<\/p>\n
