He stated clearly:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have the honor to notify you by this letter of my decision to unilaterally terminate said contract for valid reason, due to the non-payment of my remuneration and that of my staff for more than 60 days.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Belgian coach, appointed in April 2024 by the Ministry, also stressed that despite fulfilling his duties, he has yet to receive a single month\u2019s pay.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo remuneration has been paid to me,\u201d he wrote, citing Article VI of his contract, which requires that salaries be paid by the 8th of each month.<\/p>\n<p>Brys is demanding the full remaining value of his contract as compensation and has signaled readiness to take the matter to court if necessary, including the Court of Arbitration for Sport.<\/p>\n<p>FECAFOOT confirmed the resignation in a press release dated July 23, stating:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy registered letter dated July 21, 2025, Mr. Marc Brys notified the Cameroonian Football Federation of his letter of resignation addressed to the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, with immediate effect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While distancing itself from the initial appointment, made solely by the Ministry .the federation acknowledged the \u201cunilateral termination of this contractual relationship\u201d and says it has alerted public authorities to coordinate an urgent response.<\/p>\n<p>With World Cup qualifiers on the horizon and AFCON kicking off in December, Cameroon finds itself without a head coach at a critical time. FECAFOOT insists the urgency is justified and says steps are being taken to protect the national team\u2019s competitiveness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe President of the Cameroonian Football Federation reassures the Cameroonian Football Family of the commitment of the Institution he leads to pursue its program of reforms and modernization\u2026 and to restore its full greatness,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<p>For now, the Lions are without a leader.
