Rigobert Song, the 48-year-old former defender who recently took the reins of the Central African Republic national team, is reportedly owed \u20ac232,000 in salary arrears following his departure as head coach of the Indomitable Lions.<\/p>\n<p>This latest controversy bears striking similarities to the case involving Antonio Concei\u00e7\u00e3o, Song&#8217;s predecessor, who was awarded \u20ac1.85 million in compensation by FIFA after being dismissed in February 2022. Concei\u00e7\u00e3o had taken legal action against the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot) and the Ministry of Sports (Minsep) for wrongful termination.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports from Sport News Africa, Song had already gone eight months without receiving his salary when Cameroon opted not to renew his contract. His assistant coaches, S\u00e9bastien Mign\u00e9 and Raymond Kalla, are also believed to be affected by the unpaid wages.<\/p>\n<p>The dispute over Song&#8217;s compensation is further complicated by the ongoing tensions between Fecafoot and Minsep, with both entities reportedly shifting the responsibility onto each other. This lack of clarity over who should settle the debt raises concerns that the situation could escalate into a legal battle.<\/p>\n<p>Given FIFA&#8217;s previous ruling in favor of Concei\u00e7\u00e3o, Song may consider filing a complaint with football&#8217;s governing body. The situation highlights the need for greater transparency and accountability in the management of football finances in Cameroon.<\/p>\n<p>As the dispute unfolds, the football community in Cameroon and beyond will be watching closely to see how the situation is resolved.
