Incoming Orlando Pirates forward Marou Souaibou has left the Nsimalen international Airport en route to the South African city of Johanesbourg.<\/p>\n

This portal understands the 22-year-old traveled through a Kenya Airways bus that flew out of Cameroon at 2PM this Sunday. The former Sahel of Maroua winger is expected to be in SA on Monday to finalize physical formalities for his signing latest on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Souaibou caught the interest of Bucs officials last October during a CAF Champions League tie against Eswantini side Leopards during which he scored and provided an assist in a 2-0 win.<\/p>\n

Pirates and Cotonsport officials reached an agreement for the transfer of the player for a 200k deal, but negotiation of personal terms and administrative delays slowed down the move to date.<\/p>\n

Kick442.com understands the player will sign a two-and-half year deal with the multiple South African champions.<\/p>\n

All has been cleared for the player to complete the switch of the 38 goals striker who skippered and was captain of Cotonsport for two seasons during which they won back-to-back domestic titles and scored the winner in the 2021 cup of Cameroon final in a season which culminated in the Cameroon footballer of the year prize.<\/p>\n

Besides his exploits at Cotonsport, Souaibou has represented Cameroon at the Olympic, Intermediate and senior national team categories. The current armband bearer of Cameroon\u2019s Olympic team was part of the indomitable Lions squad that played the 2022 FIFA World cup in Qatar.<\/p>\n

If all go as planned, including the acquisition of a work permit the 2022 Cameroon footballer of the year could make his debut for his new club next week Sunday against Stellenbosch.<\/p>\n
