{"id":21205,"date":"2025-01-04T03:14:52","date_gmt":"2025-01-04T03:14:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/?p=21205"},"modified":"2025-01-05T11:00:51","modified_gmt":"2025-01-05T11:00:51","slug":"cameroon-cotonsport-makes-early-substitution-in-technical-crew","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/fr\/cameroon-cotonsport-makes-early-substitution-in-technical-crew\/","title":{"rendered":"Cameroon: Cotonsport makes early substitution in technical crew\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Oni Ladonette Ondesa<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0<em><strong>Cotonsport of Garoua have separated on mutual consent with Coach Bonaventure Djonkep following a series of disappointing results, including a recent 1-1 draw with Astres of Douala<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>The team has managed only two wins, three draws, and one defeat in their last six matches, prompting the club to appoint youth coach Minkreo Birwe as interim manager<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>The 2023 league champions currently sit on nine points in the standings<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Coton Sport of Garoua have terminated thier working relationship with Coach Bonaventure Djonkep after a mutual agreement to that effect just six matches in the Elite One Championship. This decision follows their 1-1 stalemate with Astres of Douala in an advanced day six fixture.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Djonkep, who was recruited after the team lost their title under French coach Daniel Br\u00e9ard last season, is now on the hunt for new opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>The team has struggled to find form, securing only two wins, three draws, and one defeat in their last six outings. At home, Cotonsport managed to clinch two victories out of four matches.<\/p>\n<p>The Weavers kicked off their elite campaign with a goalless draw against Colombe Sportive and notched their first win on day two with a 2-1 triumph over AS Fortuna.<\/p>\n<p>However, they couldn&#8217;t break the deadlock against AS Fortuna in Yaound\u00e9 and suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat to Stade Renard in Melong.<\/p>\n<p>Returning to their home ground in Garoua, the Cotonites secured a 2-1 win over Aigle du Moungo but were held to a 1-1 draw by Astres of Douala.<\/p>\n<p>In the wake of Djonkep&#8217;s departure, youth coach Minkreo Birwe, who was hired alongside Djonkep, has been appointed as interim coach.
