Morocco have drafted football into the country’s top-most priority for economic development as part of innovation related to the 2030 FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n
Sports especially football has boosted the economy of Morocco and the government is focused on more investment in sports.<\/p>\n
This is part of the motivation to co-bid with Spain and Portugal for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n
His Majesty King Mohammed VI, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the Royal Palace in Rabat, chaired a Council meeting which involved the sports administrators.<\/p>\n
At the start of the Council’s meeting, Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of the Budget, and Chairman of the 2030 World Cup Committee, presented a report to His Majesty the King, on the progress of the Kingdom’s preparations for the organization of this international sporting event.<\/p>\n
The Minister added that this tripartite application submitted to FIFA on July 29, 2024 is the result of a strong and unprecedented mobilization on the part of the working groups created for this purpose, in particular at the level of ministerial departments, public establishments and companies as well as local authorities and local authorities concerned.<\/p>\n
The mobilization will be further strengthened in coordination with all stakeholders to accelerate the implementation of all strategic and structuring projects relating to the organization of this international event, in particular:<\/p>\n
-Upgrading stadiums;<\/p>\n
-The expansion and renovation of the airports of the six host cities;<\/p>\n
-Strengthening road infrastructure and densifying intra-urban networks;<\/p>\n
-The launch of an integrated territorial upgrading programme that extends beyond the host cities of the World Cup matches.<\/p>\n
-The development of hotel and commercial infrastructure;<\/p>\n
-Strengthening and modernizing medical services;<\/p>\n
-The development and modernization of telecommunications networks;<\/p>\n
-The launch of a vast training program to strengthen the skills of young people.<\/p>\n
Morocco is showing other African countries the positives and the massive gains of sports investment which will reflect in boosting the economy of the country.<\/p>\n
