Cameroon\u2019s baby Lions are one step through to the final of the 2023 U17 African Cup of Nations tournament scheduled for Algeria after picking up all three points in a 4-0 win against Central African Republic.<\/p>\n
The Ngeme omnisport stadium in Limbe hosted the UNIFFAC zonal qualifying Matchday one clash on Thursday, January 12, 2023.<\/p>\n
Akamba Collins from \u00c9cole Brasserie du football, Dorinel Matah netted a brace and Tite Abib scored to ensure the Junior Lions start their qualification campaign on good footing.<\/p>\n
Having kept both back lines clean early into the first segment of the game, goalkeeper Eugene Thubalt Fulgence caused his side a goal after Cameroon\u2019s midfielder, Akamba took advantage of an empty pole to lob in the first goal of the game.<\/p>\n
Both side seperated on a 1-0 first half scoreline. Shortly after the 15 minutes breeder, Dorinel Matah Yondjoh won the lions a free kick after he was brought down right beside the 18m box.<\/p>\n
Soleil sport Academy’s forward, Tite Abib made it 2-0 for Cameroon taking advantage of a defense blunder after a rebounce save from the goalkeeper was not cleared off by his defenders.<\/p>\n
The baby Lions with much hunger for more goals, were arguably the better side in the last half of the game, dominating in every aspect. This earned them the third goal at the 70th minute through Dorinel Matah from EFBC.<\/p>\n
Shortly after the third goal celebration, there came another course for jubilation. Of course once again, Dorinel found the back of the opponents net just four minutes after he netted the third for Cameroon.<\/p>\n
The young prolific forward dawn in Samuel Eto\u2019os jersey number back in the days on the pitch, was practically involved in three goals in Cameroon\u2019s 4-0 mauling of RCA<\/p>\n
Cameroon\u2019s U-17 lions will again be in action on Sunday, January 15,2023 as they take on Congo. This game will be staged still at the Ngeme Ominisport stadium , Limbe.<\/p>\n
The baby lions already stand a chance of qualifying from the UNNIFAC zone with one game won already and given that they are just three left in this zone for two nations to qualify.<\/p>\n
As it stands, jut Cameroon, Congo and the Central African Republic are vying for the two tickets to Algeria for the AFCON tournament.<\/p>\n
