{"id":19752,"date":"2024-09-01T06:20:26","date_gmt":"2024-09-01T06:20:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/?p=19752"},"modified":"2024-09-01T06:20:26","modified_gmt":"2024-09-01T06:20:26","slug":"brilliant-mbeumo-leads-brentford-past-southampton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/fr\/brilliant-mbeumo-leads-brentford-past-southampton\/","title":{"rendered":"Brilliant Mbeumo leads Brentford past Southampton"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Brentford began life without Ivan Toney with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Southampton<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Mbeumo and Wissa combo brought back the winning sensation for the Bees<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>African stars Bryan Mbeumo and a Yoane Wissa goal proved to be the difference between Brentford and Southampton on Saturday on match day four of the English Premier League at the Gtech stadium.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Bees condemned the Saints to their third straight loss since promotion back to the Premier League courtesy a brace from Cameroon&#8217;s Mbeumo and Wissa from the DR Congo.<\/p>\n<p>Bryan Mbeumo struck either side of the break, twice making Southampton to pay for their wayward passing out the back, then Yoane Wissa pounced on a Ramsdale mistake for the third.<\/p>\n<p>A 60 disastrous seconds saw both Jan Bednarek and Taylor Harwood-Bellis had their pockets picked, and Southampton were duly punished.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin Schade tested the keeper but his shot rebounded into Mbeumo\u2019s path, the forward converted from 12 yards with Ramsdale stranded on 43 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>As Brentford pressured for the second, Bednarek lost possession again on the edge of the box and Wissa who got it fed Jensen to put it on a plate for Mbeumo, who did the rest.<\/p>\n<p>Mbeumo, who scored nine goals last term in just 25 games after his season was ended due to a serious ankle injury looks sharper this time around.<\/p>\n<p>Ramsdale was caught flat-footed by a near post flick for the third, and could only flap a hand at the ball as Wissa mercilessly slammed home from a yard out.<\/p>\n<p>The game looked to be quickly running away from the Saints, before Sugawara &#8211; who was their best player on the day &#8211; finally scored Southampton\u2019s first of the season with a well-struck effort that at last gave the travelling support something to celebrate in the 94th minute.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Copyright\u00a92024 kick442.com-Cameroon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>All rights reserved.
