{"id":18251,"date":"2024-06-27T13:36:17","date_gmt":"2024-06-27T13:36:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/?p=18251"},"modified":"2024-06-27T14:55:15","modified_gmt":"2024-06-27T14:55:15","slug":"obituarylandry-nguemo-dies-in-fatal-road-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/fr\/obituarylandry-nguemo-dies-in-fatal-road-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"Obituary:Landry Nguemo dies in fatal road accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Former Cameroon international, Jo\u00ebl Landry Tsafack Ngu\u00e9mo has died aged 38. <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Ngu\u00e9mo died in a car crash while on his way to the West Region from the center region of the country. <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Nguemo who won 41 caps for Cameroon, plus featured at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and multiple Africa Cup of Nations tournaments had his Prado hit by a truck filed with Sand and died on the spot, alongside his driver<\/em>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>38-year-old former Indomitable lions defensive midfielder, Joel Landry Tsafack Nguemo has passed away, following a tragic road accident on the Yaounde-Bafoussam highway.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The prolific midfielder alongside his driver passed away, after a fatal road accident that saw their vehicle colliding with a heavy sand truck, at Obala this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Reports from the scene of the incident have it that the native of Dschang in the West Region of Cameroon died on the spot even before any intervention.<\/p>\n<p>A great footballer in his hail days, Nguemo came through the famous EFBC production before going on to play for AS Nancy, Bordeaux and Saint-\u00c9tienne in France and for Scottish club Celtic Glasgow.<\/p>\n<p>His international career lasted close to a decade from 2006. He featured at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups plus multiple Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, accumulating 41 caps for Cameroon via which he scored three goals.<\/p>\n<p>After a successful football career in 2020, he enrolled into a coaching school abroad, which saw him holding the post of youth football club trainer at various clubs.<\/p>\n<p>While in Cameroon he became more popular for his interventions on the national television flagship program, &#8220;Fou Fou Foot&#8221;, alongside team mate Alexandre Song.<\/p>\n<p>Few days before his demise, he joined his former mates: Martin Hongla, Jean Il Makoun and others at the Camp Sic Nlongkak most celebrated football tournament.<\/p>\n<p>His impromptu departure leaves the local and international football family aggrieved.<\/p>\n<p>He is the second ex Cameroon international to quit the scene today.
