This move comes after the resignation of Georges Finidi, who struggled to secure wins in Nigeria&#8217;s crucial World Cup qualifiers in June.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Finidi&#8217;s departure has left the NFF seeking a fresh approach to boost the team&#8217;s chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Despite currently serving as the head coach of Cameroon&#8217;s national team, Brys has caught the NFF&#8217;s attention. His strained relationship with Cameroon&#8217;s FA chief, Samuel Eto&#8217;o, may prompt him to consider the Super Eagles&#8217; role.<\/p>\n<p>Brys recently led Cameroon to a win against Cape Verde and a draw in Angola during World Cup qualifiers, demonstrating his coaching expertise.<\/p>\n<p>Brys, a 62-year-old Belgian, has an intriguing history. He began his coaching journey at Berchem Sport, achieving championships in the Belgian fourth and third divisions.<\/p>\n<p>His tenure in Cameroon has been marked by tensions between the football federation and the sports ministry, which could influence his decision. Notably, Antonio Conceicao, Cameroon&#8217;s former tactician, is also on the NFF&#8217;s radar.<\/p>\n<p>As negotiations continue, it remains uncertain whether Brys will accept the offer. His agent, Ivo Chi, confirms that he currently holds a 29-month contract with the Ministry of Sports.
