In preparation for their return leg fixture against Burkina Faso in Abuja, the Nigeria U17 women’s national team received financial boosts from Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Director, Augustine Eguavoen, and Enugu Rangers General Manager, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, on Thursday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Led by Bankole Olowookere, the team faced a 1-1 draw with Burkina Faso in the first leg in Bamako and welcomed two former footballers turned administrators during their morning training session.<\/p>\n

Eguavoen, the former Super Eagles coach, pledged his support and expressed his intention to be in the stands to cheer them on to victory over Burkina Faso.<\/p>\n

“I’m pleased with what I have seen so far. Unlike my Barrister here, I’m not going to announce any specific amount, but I can assure you that you will also receive support from us as Amobi has set the bar,” said Eguavoen.<\/p>\n

On his part, Rangers’ supremo Ezeaku pledged \u20a61 Million to motivate the Flamingos and encourage the girls to give their best for the country’s progression. “I’m happy with what I’ve seen so far in your training, and I’m here to motivate you because women’s football is the future,” Amobi told NFF TV.<\/p>\n

“I’m not going to give you conditional promises because I know that you will win come Saturday. That’s why before I leave here today (Thursday), I will donate \u20a61 Million.<\/p>\n

“A win over Burkina Faso will set the Flamingos up for a final qualifying doubleheader against either Senegal or Liberia in June.<\/p>\n
