{"id":16287,"date":"2024-04-02T06:45:52","date_gmt":"2024-04-02T06:45:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/?p=16287"},"modified":"2024-04-02T06:45:52","modified_gmt":"2024-04-02T06:45:52","slug":"mtn-elite-two-promotion-playoffs-pecko-zali-secure-first-playoffs-victory-for-racing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/fr\/mtn-elite-two-promotion-playoffs-pecko-zali-secure-first-playoffs-victory-for-racing\/","title":{"rendered":"MTN Elite Two promotion playoffs: Pecko, Zali secure first playoffs victory for Racing"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em><strong>In their third attempt, Racing registered their first victory of this season&#8217;s playoffs<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Borel Pecko and Stephane Zali Kahama were the scorers in the contest for three points<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Racing Bafoussam are back in the competition for the top two positions though they have picked up just four points in their opening two games\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Racing Bafoussam were 2-0 winners against struggling Dragon of Yaounde on match day three of the 2023\/24 MTN Elite Two promotion playoffs on Monday at the Bamendzi stadium.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Tout Puissant de L&#8217;Ouest as they are commonly known scored through Abel Borel Pecko and Stephane Zali Kahama in each half to secure their first three points of the crunch competition, compounding Dragon&#8217;s woes.<\/p>\n<p>The opening half hour of the game was end to end as both sides attempted to get the early goal and the best possible scenario throughout the 90 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Dragon looked better than the side that lost 5-0 and 2-1 against Djiko and Eding in the previous outings but skipper Francis Koloto and mates couldn&#8217;t take their chances.<\/p>\n<p>Racing of Bafoussam eventually drew first blood at the 33rd minute via forward Pecko who made the most of the time and space accorded him after he received a great ball in the box.<\/p>\n<p>The goal calmed the nerves of coach Bernard Fotso who made sure his players stayed focused and protect the lead till the interval.<\/p>\n<p>Dragon improved upon resumption but Racing with the help of the home crowd sucked all pressure on their defense while constantly attempting to break from the counter to get the insurance goal.<\/p>\n<p>As Dragon pushed upwards to find the equalizer spaces opened at the back, one of which Racing eventually made the most of.<\/p>\n<p>Zali secured the three points when he scored the second for 1999 champions of Cameroon to sanction a third defeat in a row for the Cha Cha Boys.<\/p>\n<p>There wasn&#8217;t much of a talking point in the final seven minutes as Racing Bafoussam held on to achieve three points and a clean sheet.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Copyright\u00a92023 kick442.com-Cameroon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>All rights reserved.
