The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has readjusted the women’s football schedule for the 2023 African Games taking place in Ghana.<\/p>\n

This was done after the withdrawal of the Cameroon U-20 women’s team from the tournament due to financial constraints.<\/p>\n

Cameroon was drawn in Group B to face Nigeria, Morocco, and Senegal but will not take part in the tournament.<\/p>\n

The withdrawal left Group B with three teams that will play two instead of three group games.<\/p>\n

According to the schedule, Nigeria and Morocco will play the opening match of the women’s football event on March 8, 2024.<\/p>\n

The final of the women’s football event has been scheduled for March 21, 2024.<\/p>\n

Cape Coast Stadium and Elmina Stadium will stage the women’s football event.<\/p>\n

Nigeria won gold in 2019 during the last African Games.<\/p>\n

After qualifying for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, the Falconets are favourites to retain the gold medal.<\/p>\n
