He made us understand that this was undoubtedly the chance of a lifetime. Incredible memories that cannot erase from my memory.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Cameroon that had eliminated Senegal and Ghana in the quarter and semi-final respectively trailed to Egypt in the exciting final through a first-half goal from Mohamed Elneny, but second-half goals from substitutes Nicolas Julio Nkoulou and Vincent Aboubakar turned things around to ensure a fifth Cameroonian triumph in the AFCON final.<\/p>\n<p>Per Djoum, the Cameroon story could have been different if not for the presence of the former KV Ostende coach.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Without Hugo Broos, this would probably never have been possible,&#8221; Djoum concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Broos&#8217; boys left Cameroon unannounced after their camp in Malabo and the friendly against DR Congo in Yaound\u00e9 before flying to Gabon to complete what some pundits termed &#8216;Cameroon&#8217;s miracle of Gabon&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Djoum went on to feature at three AFCON tournaments and the FIFA Confederations Cup plus played for ten clubs but to him none came close the moment in Gabon.<\/p>\n<p>To confirm the feat Broos achieved wasn&#8217;t a fluke, the former Belgian defender has guided an unfancied Bafana Bafana of South Africa to the semi-final of the 2023 AFCON tournament currently happening in C\u00f4te D&#8217;Ivoire.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Copyright\u00a92023 kick442.com-Cameroon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>All rights reserved.
