Kaba Diawara, the head coach of the Syli National of Guinea has vowed to go all-out against the defending champions, Senegal this Tuesday when they cap their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) at the Stade Charles Konan Banny stadium.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking to the media 24 hours before kick-off of the game Kaba described the game as the ideal fixture for them to test their qualities while stating they won’t play for a draw.<\/p>\n

“We are cautious of our qualities and want to test ourselves against the best team.<\/p>\n

“We know that if we win we will be first and it will count for a lot, so we play every game to win,” Kaba told the full house at the press conference hall at the CKB Stadium.<\/p>\n

Guinea has had a strong start to the 2023 tournament in C\u00f4te D’Ivoire – defeating last edition’s quarter-finalist, The Gambia and playing out a draw against five-time winners, Cameroon.<\/p>\n

The 1976 finalist will hope to finish on a high against Aliou Cisse’s Teranga Lions currently in a cruising mood.<\/p>\n

Quizzed on his strength and his optimism against Senegal, Kaba insisted he will play per his team’s strength.<\/p>\n

“Senegal is a good team, they have their strength, they won’t defend deep, they will come all out against this great side and try to get the result we need to keep us in the competition. Senegal has six points and six goals scored and is working in silence. This tells you about how big the game is waiting for us.”<\/p>\n

Naby Keita and co will be hoping to be at their best against their fierce rivals in a remake of their third group game at the last AFCON.<\/p>\n

On Serhou Guirassy, the coach assured he is back and in the running for the game against Senegal everything being equal.<\/p>\n

Midfielder Morgan Guilavogui followed coach Kaba to the pre-match conference and had summed his thoughts in few words;<\/p>\n

“We played a good match against Senegal in the Cameroon 2021 edition, and now we have developed further. We have been working with the coach for two years, and we have several talented players. Carrying the colors of the Guinean national team is a matter of pride for me and I am happy about that. I now have experience with the Guinean national team, and we prepared well before the competition began\u201d.<\/p>\n

Guinea will grind ashes with Senegal at 5pm in an all-West African derby to kick-off from at 17h local time in C\u00f4te D’Ivoire’s political capital.<\/p>\n
