The head coach of Cameroon’s senior men’s national team, Rigobert Song hit back at critics ahead of his side’s last Group C encounter with Gambia in Bouake on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The Indomitable Lions have not won any of their first two group games and need a win to have any chance of making it to the knockout stage of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).<\/p>\n
While answering questions from journalists during the pre match press conference in Bouake upon the team arrival at their new game venue, song spoke about the task ahead of his team.<\/p>\n
“Everyone is targeted. There are a lot of things said. I have already been told dead, I am alive. We have said everything. I am here.” Song stated.<\/p>\n
“But today I remain focused on what I want to do and I know it is God who decide I stay tomorrow focused on what I want to do and I think tomorrow we wil pass and it will be different.<\/p>\n
“They will see iit differently It is part of the game. Football, when it is not good, we will criticize, when it is good, you are the best. The day you lose you are bad.<\/p>\n
“So what should we do. We must win. So I think I conveyed it to players and they are aware of it.” He concluded.<\/p>\n
Senegal top the group with six poinst and will next face Guinea while Cameroon and Gambia settle scores the same time.<\/p>\n
