As part of their preparations for the rest of the Egyptian Premier League season, the Club World Cup and CAF Champions League, Al Ahly have completed the signing Mohamed Dhaoui from Tunisian giants Etoile du Sahel on a five-year-deal.<\/p>\n
Unconfirmed reports say the Red Devils paid $2 Millions to secure the services of the 19-year-old who left Tunisia as the current top scorer of their domestic championship, having scored five goals and provided two assists in six games.<\/p>\n
\u201cDhaoui is a talented youngster and he will be a great addition to any club. However his transfer value should befit his value and the name of Etoile du Sahel,\u201dMohamed Mkacher who works as Etoile du Sahel manager said when the move was still embryonic.<\/p>\n
Al Ahly are keen on strengthening in attack and also see Dhaoui as a prospect to groom and resale thus explaining the huge investment.<\/p>\n
Etoile was keen on keeping the player, but the club’s internal situation makes sales an obligation.<\/p>\n
“We would have loved Dhaoui to stay at Etoile, but the club might be handed a transfer ban, and the difficult economic situation might lead to relegation,\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIf his departure to Al Ahly is going to put an end to the crises the club is facing, this will be a great thing,\u201d the 47-year-old manager added.<\/p>\n
Al Ahly share the same CAF Champions League group with big spenders Mamelodi Sundowns, Al Hilal of Sudan and Cameroon’s Cotonsport of Garoua whose squad has been depleted by the departures of Felix Oukine and Marou Souaibou in the past two weeks.<\/p>\n
Cotonsport and Al Ahly clash in the CAF primary men’s interclub competition in February and March 2023, by that time which Dhaoui will have been registered as a Red Devil.<\/p>\n
