Cameroon Elite One club, Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda have reawakened plans of backing out of Cameroon football.<\/p>\n
This is a substance of a three-page letter addressed to Cameroon’s Prime Minister and Head of Government, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute.<\/p>\n
In the letter, the club stated that it’s exactly three seasons that the current president of FECAFOOT took over office with euphoria and hope and in his energetic spray of confidence, he imposed that no elite one matches will be played on some stadiums amongst which was the Yong Sports Academy Arena, situated at Mile 6 Nkwen, Bamenda.<\/p>\n
This decision was received with mixed feelings but with the promised of a stadium in Bamenda that was to be delivered on December 31, 2022, the club decided to respect the decision, the letter stated.<\/p>\n
Since then, things have never been the same again for YOSA.<\/p>\n
In the letter signed by Chi Chinda Chido Mitterrand Francois, the President of the club, he highlighted that Yong Sports Academy had gone unbeaten in Bamenda for close to 10years as the team always pulled thousand of supporters during home matches who always ensured the security of all actors.<\/p>\n
He noted that, since 2021, the expenditure of the team has tripled and even quadrupled as the team is yet to receive complete subventions for the past two seasons and the current season.<\/p>\n
“We have for the past three seasons suffered a lot of injustices which is a resum\u00e9 of our position in the league. Three seasons going we have been fighting relegation and reducing our chances of ever topping the league while increasing our chances of being relegated”, a portion of the letter read.<\/p>\n
President Chi Chinda Chido Mitterrand Francois disclosed that, the Yong Sports Academy stadium is available and ready to use for all the home matches of the team.<\/p>\n
“Yong Sports Arena is available and waiting to be used. The management of Yong Sports Academy is ready to do any work in the field should FECAFOOT give a “cahier de charge” so we can mobilise funds from our partners, Elites and fans not forgetting the unconditional support from the government. This will help to at least give an opportunity to our fans and the entire North West football lovers to watch and share the passion of elite football”, he said.<\/p>\n
With the first round of the current season to end on November 27, 2023 and the second round to begin a week later (December 6, 2023), the YOSA President in the letter disclosed that the team will pull out of the championship if their home matches are not played in Bamenda.<\/p>\n
“To conclude, if before the start of the second round of the championship to begin on December 6, 2023, which is two years after a field was promised to us, nothing is done, Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda will withdraw from elite football and consequently it will be an opportunity to free all players since it will be a transfer window”, he stated.<\/p>\n
The club’s management have continued to decry the poor refereeing decisions taken against them with the most recent being in their match against Victoria United FC.<\/p>\n
