Traveling Fans of PWD of Bamenda have given an ultimatum to their President, Pascal Abunde that he should abandon the current Elite One Championship should home matches of the team are not moved to Bamenda.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This follows the shameful officiating that fans and the team were subjected to in their Day 8 encounter against Astres of Douala.<\/p>\n

Complaining to Abunde who is also the President of Elite Clubs in Cameroon, he was told to “either we play the second round of our matches in Bamenda or you change the name of the club to PWD Mbouda or Bafoussam. We will block players and the team from traveling to any home match programmed in the West Region.” A supporter was spotted shouting at the President.<\/p>\n

PWD Bamenda was denied four obvious penalty appeals which irked the fans into riot. The team is playing its third season without any home support.<\/p>\n

Matches were removed from Bamenda because of the lack of modern football infrastructure. After the election of Samuel Eto’o in December 2021, he promised to construct modern playgrounds in the country beginning with Bamenda.<\/p>\n

Almost midterm into his mandate, even the foundation stone of such a project is nowhere to be found and Elite one clubs in the North West have travel every now and then for both home and away matches having a catastrophic impact on their performance.<\/p>\n

Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda, a topflight club since 2009 has had to fight relegation for the last three seasons, something that has never happened in their history.<\/p>\n

Former FECAFOOT North West President and today National 4th Vice President promised the delivery of a proximity stadium on the 31st December 2022. Almost a year on, the works are still to be completed.<\/p>\n

YOSA’s President said it was this pronouncement that the field will be delivered on time, that forced them to accept playing out of home. Since the realization of the project is becoming difficult, they will not continue to shoulder the burden.<\/p>\n

Kick442.com has stumbled on a letter addressed to PM Dion Ngute about the torture team YOSA has been facing due to the lack of football infrastructure and says they will pull out of the championship if matches are not played in Bamenda.<\/p>\n

It is worthy to note that YOSA and PWD have been at the centre of terrible refereeing during their Day 8 encounters.<\/p>\n

Tchouta Paul who officiated the PWD VS Astres match has been suspended by the President of the Central Referees Appointment Commission, Foko Kamga Stephane.<\/p>\n
