Ampem Darkoa (Ghana) and holders, ASFAR FC (Morocco) will play in the semi final of the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League after the both recorded victories in the final Group A games on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Ghanaian champions defeated Huracanes (Equatorial Guinea) 3-1 at Stade Amadou Gon Coulibaly, Khorogo, Ivory Coast.<\/p>\n
Ampem Darkoa started the match with Deborah Brown, Martha Appiah, Diana Amoako, Linda Owusu Ansah, Ophelia S Amponsah, Tracey Twum, Jennifer Owusuaa, Comfort Yeboah, Mabel Amoyaw, Abena Anoma Opoku, and Nancy Amoh.<\/p>\n
For Huracanes, Dolores Hernandez Masongo, Inmaculada Avelina Abang, Angelina Obono, Marie Yolande, Cecilia Akeng, Elena Obono, Nuria Baita, Catalina Andeme, Julia Raquel, Christiane Ebenye, and Marie Ovaha started the encounter.<\/p>\n
The Ghanian champions broke the deadlock within the first ten of the first half from a set piece.<\/p>\n
Tracey Twum scored from the free kick to open the scoring for Ampem Darkoa in the ninth minute of play.<\/p>\n
She doubled the lead for Ampem Darkoa in the 72nd minute off a rebound after initial attempt hit the post.<\/p>\n
Substitute, Yanyimaya Gnabekan made it 3-0 before Christine Essombe pulled one goal back for Huracanes in the additional minutes of the second half.<\/p>\n
In San Pedro, ASFAR FC also secured a 2-0 win against AS Mande (Mali).<\/p>\n
Fatou Dembele unfortunate own goal in the fifth minute gave the holders a 1-0 lead.<\/p>\n
The most valuable player of the tournament in 2022, Fatima Tagnaout doubled the lead for the Moroccan champions in the 37th minute.<\/p>\n
Overall, Ampem Darkoa top the group with six points and will face CS Casablanca (Morocco) in the last four.<\/p>\n
The repeat of last year’s final which ended 4-0 in favour of ASFAR FC has been activated as Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies faces holders in the semi final.<\/p>\n
