{"id":12334,"date":"2023-10-24T03:36:29","date_gmt":"2023-10-24T03:36:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/?p=12334"},"modified":"2023-10-24T06:36:45","modified_gmt":"2023-10-24T06:36:45","slug":"mtn-elite-one-clubs-take-break-without-gate-takings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/fr\/mtn-elite-one-clubs-take-break-without-gate-takings\/","title":{"rendered":"MTN Elite One Clubs Take break without Gate takings"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Normally gate takings are supposed to be distributed between the hosts, visiting club, state Treasury via taxation, infrastructure managers, the Federation and the the local council<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>In the past season in FECAFOOT has engulfed gate takings without prior authorization from any of the other other related parties<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>A record 123 millions FCFA was made just from gate takings when Cameroon played host to Algeria in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers first-leg playoffs game in March 2022 at the Japoma Omnisport stadium<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>In the last ten years, clubs in Cameroon have been engaging on so many social media platforms just to engage with their fans and have them turn up on match days.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fans have returned to the stadiums especially after Cameroon got modern infrastructure that hosted the 2016 Africa Women&#8217;s Cup of Nations, the 2021 Africa Nations Championships and the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.<\/p>\n<p>These stadiums today play host to elite matches, mostly full to capacity. Populous clubs like PWD of Bamenda, Bambotous of Mbouda, Canon of Yaounde, Union of Douala, Cotonsport of Garoua have had their fans trooping into the various stadia. But the clubs are not benefitting from gate takings.<\/p>\n<p>During the Elite One Playoffs, clubs were surprised that they did not benefit a dime from the gate takings, with everything going the way of the Federation.<\/p>\n<p>During the relegation playoffs game pitting Yong Sport Academy against Eding Sport de la Lekie, both clubs did not receive money from the gate takings after a hectic mobilisation to keep their clubs afloat the prime of Cameroonian football.<\/p>\n<p>During the just ended National interpools in Yaounde, none of the 10 regional representatives went home with a dime from gate takings. They were matches where tickets got finished and fans had to look for other ways to penetrate the stadium.<\/p>\n<p>This worrisome act has seen the officials of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) and the transition committee of the Cameroon professional football league silent has raised eyebrows and caused a tense atmosphere between them and other parties.<\/p>\n<p>As if swindling the gate takings is not enough, in the build up to the last football season, each club was promised an envelope of 48 million francs CFA. More than 80 percent of these clubs did not receive the money in full.<\/p>\n<p>These two aspects amongst others account for the latest version of cash crisis clubs like Racing Bafoussam, Djiko FC of Bandjoun amongst others are facing.<\/p>\n<p>As the MTN Elite One championship goes on a two-week break and MTN Elite two begins this week, clubs are still to receive any assistance from the Federation, no gate takings and no commercial rights money.<\/p>\n<p>All of these huddles is largely due to the fact that no General Assembly is made for the professional clubs to agree on the format of the league, the percentages of the gate takings and the distribution of sponsorship rights of the championship.<\/p>\n<p>Since the CTFP took over the management of professional football in Cameroon, no such General Assembly has taken place.<\/p>\n<p>The statutes of FECAFOOT clearly stated that before the launch of any league, the actors must agree on the format of the championship.<\/p>\n<p>In the face of these injustices to football actors in Cameroon, the Syndicate of professional clubs, ACEC has remained silent.<\/p>\n<p>Some think the break in the league is to agree on how the gate takings will be shared while others say if the situation is not settled before the league resumes on November 5, they risk not playing.<\/p>\n<p>The huge amounts of monies generated by gate takings kick442.com believes is the major reason why the Elite One and Two championships were split into pools.<\/p>\n<p>The championship format requires every team to be involved in either a play up match or a play down match.
