{"id":11521,"date":"2023-10-03T21:36:18","date_gmt":"2023-10-03T21:36:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/?p=11521"},"modified":"2023-10-04T05:32:25","modified_gmt":"2023-10-04T05:32:25","slug":"cameroon-match-fixing-probe-two-southwest-officials-expected-in-yaounde","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/fr\/cameroon-match-fixing-probe-two-southwest-officials-expected-in-yaounde\/","title":{"rendered":"Cameroon Match-fixing probe: Two Southwest officials expected in Yaound\u00e9"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Around the region of 30 people will be questionned for issues related to match-fixing in Southwest and beyond<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Two referees from Southwest have been summoned so far<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An anonymous source in the Southwest refereeing family has told this Pan African portal that two experienced colleagues of his viz; Fotso Elvis and Ngwa Kingsley have been summoned to appear at the Yaound\u00e9 1 Central Police this Wednesday, October 4.<\/p>\n<p>kick442.com understands they have been summoned as part of the efforts to unearth an alleged FECAFOOT-organized match-fixing and corruption network which is currently under investigation on instructions from president Paul Biya, of the Republic of Cameroon.<\/p>\n<p>Grapevine information from a member of the refereeing core it that, Mutengene-based assistant Fotso and his colleague, Ngwa, who reside in Buea have been summoned to provide further explanations about their input in varied match-fixing stories emanating from the Southwest Region of Cameroon.<\/p>\n<p>Fotso and Ngwa were first and second assistant referees respectively during the first-leg Southwest regional championship mini-interpools semi-final game between NQSA and Kumba City FC last season.<\/p>\n<p>The game offered fans one of the most controversial refereeing decisions in the history of the championship &#8211; including three red cards, and two penalties against eventual losers, NQSA<\/p>\n<p>A section of public opinion have it that, both men and their referee on the day, Atangana William was acting on instruction from a top level official in the region, though we can&#8217;t categorically place our finger on the concerned.<\/p>\n<p>Our team&#8217;s efforts to get official reasons behind their summons to appear before the judiciary proved futile.<\/p>\n<p>The appearance of the two men this Wednesday will add their names to the list of persons who have been summoned for questioning so far since the head of states ordered for instructions.<\/p>\n<p>The like of of Gilbai Guitama among others have been summoned and questioned over the past few days. Though we understand a bulk of those expected to be quizzed in the fact-finding mission are yet to be summoned.<\/p>\n<p>The past few weeks in Cameroon football have been marked by the height of controversy after a &#8216;purported&#8217; conversation between Nkwain Valentine, president of Victoria United FC and Samuel Eto&#8217;o Fils of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) went viral on social media.<\/p>\n<p>The absence of Atangana William on the list of raises eyebrows and also signals the state could be investigating another event &#8211; far from that which many are anticipating or so.<\/p>\n<p>The Cameroon public security service is yet to comment on the issue, but Eto&#8217;o&#8217;s team and himself have issued varied statements about the same situation.<\/p>\n<p>CAF and FIFA also have an ongoing investigation about the issue though only the former announced it was embarking in the journey some time in August.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Copyright\u00a92023 kick442.com-Cameroon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>All rights reserved.
