{"id":11376,"date":"2023-09-29T11:40:42","date_gmt":"2023-09-29T11:40:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/?p=11376"},"modified":"2023-09-29T12:39:16","modified_gmt":"2023-09-29T12:39:16","slug":"osimhen-picks-etoo-as-mentor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/fr\/osimhen-picks-etoo-as-mentor\/","title":{"rendered":"Osimhen picks Eto&#8217;o as mentor"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Victor James Osimhen has confessed Samuel Eto&#8217;o Fils shaped his career<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Osimhen is making waves these days for Napoli like Eto&#8217;o did for Inter<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>24-year-old Osimhen helped Napoli win the Scudetto for the first time in 32 years last year\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The Lagos boy is a King in Naples as Eto&#8217;o was in Milan<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Napoli SSL striker, Victor James Osimhen has named Cameroon football legend Samuel Eto&#8217;o Fils, who is considered to be one of Africa&#8217;s best of all time, as his role model.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 24-year-old Lagos boy on the books of the current Serie A champions is arguably one of the best strikers in the world, who has been spearheading Rudi Garcia&#8217;s attack ever since he joined the club in the summer of 2019.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent interview with Dairio Sport, Osimhen talked about his best club back in the days in Lagos and who made him cherish the club.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I come from a neighbourhood where things were difficult. When I was young, my favorite team was Barcelona with Samuel Eto\u2019o.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is still my favourite club to date,\u201d the former Lille striker added.<\/p>\n<p>The recent declaration adds Osimhen to the list of the lovers of that great Barcelona team that won the historic treble during Pep Guardiola&#8217;s breakthrough season at the Camp Nou.<\/p>\n<p>Eto&#8217;o played a pivotal part in that triumph and went on to play for Napoli&#8217;s bitter-rival Inter Milan.<\/p>\n<p>However, Osimhen could rather make a move from Italy to Spain one day.<\/p>\n<p>Joao Cancelo made a similar declaration earlier this year and ended up joining the club last summer.<\/p>\n<p>Osimhen&#8217;s outing can only fuel speculations about a move to Barcelona in future especially in the heat of the current disagreement with the club.<\/p>\n<p>The Italian side posted a video on TikTok with a high pitched voice showing Osimhen missing a penalty in their 0-0 draw against Bologna on Sunday, which was later deleted.<\/p>\n<p>Osimhen\u2019s agent Roberto Calenda later threatened legal action, while the 24-year-old player removed all images of himself in a Napoli shirt from his social media accounts.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the row, he played and scored in Napoli\u2019s 4-1 league win over Udinese on Wednesday to take his tally to four goals in seven games this season.<\/p>\n<p>Champion Napoli is fifth in the league standings and will face Lecce on Saturday before hosting Real Madrid in the Champions League.<\/p>\n<p>Osimhen helped Napoli end its 33-year wait for a league title last season as he was Serie A top scorer with 26 goals.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Copyright\u00a92023 kick442.com-Cameroon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>All rights reserved.
