Le Pr\u00e9sident de la FIFA, Gianni Infantino, et la Directrice g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de l’Organisation mondiale du commerce (OMC), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, ont fait le point hier \u00e0 New York sur leur collaboration visant \u00e0 tirer parti de la puissance et de l’influence du football pour stimuler les \u00e9conomies des pays les moins avanc\u00e9s, avec une attention particuli\u00e8re pour les pays du “Cotton Four plus” (B\u00e9nin, Burkina Faso, Mali, C\u00f4te d’Ivoire et Tchad).<\/p>\n

Les deux organisations ont sign\u00e9 un protocole d’accord en septembre dernier afin de cr\u00e9er des opportunit\u00e9s dans la cha\u00eene de valeur des v\u00eatements de football pour les pays du “Cotton Four”. Pr\u00e8s d’un an apr\u00e8s la signature du protocole d’accord, elles se sont r\u00e9unies pour discuter des progr\u00e8s r\u00e9alis\u00e9s, des moyens de les am\u00e9liorer et des possibilit\u00e9s d’autonomisation \u00e9conomique des femmes.<\/p>\n

Au cours de la r\u00e9union, Okonjo-Iweala et Infantino ont \u00e9galement \u00e9tudi\u00e9 la possibilit\u00e9 d’int\u00e9grer le programme Football for Schools de la FIFA, une initiative de la FIFA en partenariat avec l’UNESCO visant \u00e0 contribuer \u00e0 l’\u00e9ducation, au d\u00e9veloppement et \u00e0 l’autonomisation d’environ 700 millions d’enfants dans le monde.<\/p>\n

Les deux dirigeants ont partag\u00e9 des informations sur la r\u00e9union et les progr\u00e8s r\u00e9alis\u00e9s sur leurs pages respectives de m\u00e9dias sociaux, en soulignant les opportunit\u00e9s de d\u00e9veloppement \u00e9conomique dans les pays en voie de d\u00e9veloppement.<\/p>\n
