{"id":1054,"date":"2022-12-21T08:27:22","date_gmt":"2022-12-21T08:27:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/?p=1054"},"modified":"2022-12-21T08:27:22","modified_gmt":"2022-12-21T08:27:22","slug":"choupo-turned-down-germany-just-moting-reveals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kick442.com\/fr\/choupo-turned-down-germany-just-moting-reveals\/","title":{"rendered":"Choupo turned down Germany &#8211; Just Moting reveals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The father of one of Cameroon&#8217;s lead forwards this day Eric Maxim Choupo Moting has revealed his son was offered the chance of representing another nation but opted to join the five times African champions.<\/p>\n<p>According Mr Just Moting, Choupo who was born in Germany and learned his trade in the country could have had a completely different career but opted for Cameroon.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Choupo grew with Thomas Muller, Jerome Boateng and the rest but they separated in 2010,&#8221; Just began explaining.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He could have gone all the way with the German national team but we decided otherwise,&#8221; Just further revealed on Equinox TV.<\/p>\n<p>With the help of former Cameroon international Timothee Atouba, who was playing for Hamburg at the time, the Cameroon football federation convinced Choupo to abandoned a course he had been in with Germany&#8217;s U19 and 21.<\/p>\n<p>Choupo made his debut for Cameroon in 2010 and scored his first international goal against the Red Devils of Serbia in June of that year.<\/p>\n<p>Often times, players switch to an African nation when all isn&#8217;t working well for them with the European option. The same can&#8217;t be said about Choupo who scored eight goals for Germany&#8217;s youth teams and made his professional debut for Hamburg in 2007 was flying high when he opted for Cameroon.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1056\" style=\"width: 273px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1056\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1056\" src=\"https:\/\/kick442.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/images-18.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"263\" height=\"192\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1056\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Eric Maxim Choupo Moting in action for Cameroon<br \/>Photo Credit: Courtesy Photo<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The striker who has scored 21 goals in 73 has spent over a decade in the Cameroon team.<\/p>\n<p>The Bayern Munich forward who have featured at three FIFA World Cup tournaments even scored against Germany during a pre-World Cup friendly in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>33-year-old Choupo who has also played in three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments is one of several players currently part of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon family who were born abroad but opted to return home and play for fatherland.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Copyright\u00a92022 kick442.com<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>All rights reserved.
