Foncha Street FC will formally apply to the Cameroon football federation (FECAFOOT) to change their playing name to Hillpark FC Baba 1 from the coming season.<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The move, which is being fought by some of fans, has been prompted by the club ownership led by Moh David, who believes the new name would be more commercially successful.<\/p>\n

The decision was taken on August 29 at the general assembly to prepare for the coming season.<\/p>\n

We understand the club will send a letter to FECAFOOT to push for the change as soon as possible alongside details of their GA including the annual budget of 125 Millions FCFA adopted by the entire management.<\/p>\n

President Moh has already registered the company name as Hillpark FC Baba 1 as expected of Elite clubs, but he needs the permission of the FA through the general assembly to change the club’s playing name.<\/p>\n

The move is expected to rebuild the club’s image through the move that is expected to be deliberated upon during the next FECAFOOT Executive Committee meeting scheduled for next week in Garoua.<\/p>\n

Foncha Street FC of Bamenda currently ply trade in the second tier of Cameroon football, having earned promotion via the 2019 national interpools in Bertoua.<\/p>\n

The club will compete in the 16-clubs Elite 2 championship scheduled to start next month.<\/p>\n
