Former Manchester City and Indomitable Lions of Cameroon defender, Lucien Mettomo has told the 30 graduates of the Cameroon national football Academy (ANAFOOT) headed for elite football to work hard, remain disciplined and look after themselves to attract the support of the Cameroon football federation (FECAFOOT).<\/p>\n
Mettomo who represented FECAFOOT president, Samuel Eto’o Fils at the flagship events to officially transfer ANAFOOT players to their new clubs on Saturday evening at the Hilton Hotel congratulated the graduates while reminding them the tough task ahead while saluting the efforts made so far.<\/p>\n
“I am very happy to take part in the first ever draft to happen in Cameroon. You know what youth football means for me and the Cameroon football federation,” Mettomo began.<\/p>\n
“You know how I am always available to accompany activities that help our footballers, you can always count on me.”<\/p>\n
Mettomo then reminded those in attendance of FECAFOOT’s interest in structures that develop youth football.<\/p>\n
“At FECAFOOT, we pay attention to institutions that develop young players but ANAFOOT is a main institution in the development of our football.They are developing talents in a very professional manner through the laudable initiative masterminded by president Paul Biya.”<\/p>\n
Mettomo then cautioned the young players to stir clair of some the ills of the football industry.<\/p>\n
“Always draw closer to specialized institutions like ANAFOOT and FECAFOOT. Don’t let fake agents mislead you. Above all, be respectful and hard working. Help us to help you.”<\/p>\n
The recent strides by ANAFOOT gives huge hopes for a better future of Cameroon football.<\/p>\n
