Northwest Elite One championship side Yong Sports Academy (YOSA) of Bamenda and it’s sister outfits are considering pulling out from the country’s top-flight championship if the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) fails to go back to it’s decision to only schedule their league matches out of home.<\/p>\n
YOSA and PWD of the same city have had to play their league matches in the past two seasons on the road after FECAFOOT opted to schedule games only in modern pitches, which the entire Northwest Region doesn’t have.<\/p>\n
According to our sources, YOSA has made it clear to FECAFOOT and it’s transitional league management body that it will only enter it’s 14th season in the country’s flagship championship if its games are scheduled within the Northwest.<\/p>\n
YOSA and PWD have played their home matches in the West Region last season, depriving them of the usual home support which has formed their strength over the years.<\/p>\n
Both clubs battled to beat the drop last term. A return back to their base will only increase their chances of performing better in the entire championship and improve chances of making money through gate takings among others.<\/p>\n
Only Elite 2 and amateur championship matches have been played in the Northwest in the past two seasons.<\/p>\n
The Samuel Eto’o-led FECAFOOT inherited promises of providing a modern stadium facility to the Northwest, and had promised to deliver one by last December. Unfortunately they hasn’t done so to date.<\/p>\n
