Combative ISOHSA midfielder Wilson Ngange Junior hailed City’s history makers after edging Bafmeng United FA 2-0 to clinch the iconic trophy last Sunday.

Ngange and his colleagues secured a first-ever Elite 2 trophy in the Club’s eight-year history after beating Pouma FC 2-0 in the semi-final but crowned the great tournament last Sunday at the Ngoa Ekelle stadium courtesy goals from Tiku Albert Egbe and Babo Brandon.

The victory at the historic Stadium set the seal on an incredible season that has also seen them win the Southwest Regional League and reached the 16th final of the Cup of Cameroon.

For Njange it was especially sweet after the struggles in his first season at the club.

And he said that ISOHSA players had handled the pressure and expectation when it was at its most acute.

“It’s a period for our club. It’s difficult to put into words, difficult to realise. This season we made history,” said the ISOHSA midfielder.

“We weren’t our best in the first half. We were a little bit hesitant even though we had a couple of good chances.

“We had to do better. I think that’s what we did but it was probably a 50/50 goal and the quick goals made the difference. Winning the Interpools takes us to the top of our game. We feel fortunate it was for us.”

The midfielder also acknowledged the opponents in the final added more incentive to him and his colleagues going into the all important sixth game of the competition.

“We knew everyone was talking about the anglophone derby final especially our fans. The pressure was there but this team is built to handle the pressure in the best possible way and we did in Yaoundé,” Jnr revealed in a conversation this week with the kick442.com crew.

Njange who made his 21st appearance of the season coming off the bench in the final joined his side to complete the spectacular display that earned a maiden Interpools gold medal for the Southwest.

The box-to-box midfielder who had to shrug-off Malaria and typhoid fever to be ready for the final played a telling role in ISOHSA’s unforgettable run of four defeats in 29 games this season.

Nganje has enjoyed a better second campaign at the club, scoring twice and provided six assists. He represents their foundation for the future in Elite 2 and beyond.
