The Secretary General of the West Regional football league of FECAFOOT has signed a release readmitting Volcan of Noun back in the championship weeks after kick-off without the defending champions.
The recent release signed by Tabopda Phillipe comes over a month after the 2023/24 championship started without the flagship club of the Noun Division on the pretext that they had failed to meet administrative formalities on time.
Having gone as far as meeting president Samuel Eto’o Fils of the Cameroon football federation (FECAFOOT), Volcan officials have recovered their status and face a marathon catch up situation.
The League management body has scheduled all their six delayed matches between March 5 to 20 while observing a pause in the rest of the championship as part of efforts to catch up.
Volcan has played against Talent de Bafoussam, Etoile de Baham and Royal FC of Foumban while games against Aifa de Bangoulop, Bisong de Mbouda and Stade Bandjoun are left to complete the catch up.
Volcan conquered the West Region last season and had an honorable Interpools competition and finished fourth, which wasn’t enough to secure promotion to the second tier of Cameroon football.
Just like in previous seasons, this term’s champion of the West Region will compete with nine other regional champions to earn one of the two slots available for ascension to Elite Two via the 2024 national interpools at a venue and date yet to be announced by FECAFOOT.
