Indomitable Lions of Cameroon skipper and Besiktas forward Vincent Aboubakar scored and assisted to help Besiktas SK to a comfortable 3-0 against Kasimpasa in the final match day of the 2022/23 Turkish Super League season.
The finisher on red hot form had a great afternoon leading the lines alongside Chec Tosun. Both men scored and assisted each other, adding to a Gelson Fernandes goal at the Kasim Stadium.
The latest win increased Besiktas’ chances of achieving European football next season as it stretched a recent fine run masterminded by Aboubakar.
Aboubakar led the lines, hoping to deliver and keep his club’s recent run of results.
Fernandes opened scores for the visitors 20 minutes into the game with a finish from a solo effort.
Aboubakar made sure there was greater chances of a win when he played in Tosun to score the second of the afternoon on the half hour mark.
At 2-0, Besiktas were cruising towards another victory but had to navigate a good second segment to after taking the 2-0 advantage to the break.
Aboubakar scored the third just four minutes into the second segment, benefiting from a returned favour from Tosun to make it 3-0.
The final moments of the game lacked the spark to produce more goals, but to Besiktas it was satisfactory as they had done enough to win the contest in a difficult night against thousands of home fans.
Bahoken who was recently invited to the Cameroon team to face Uganda and Mexico in international friendlies this week had a quiet afternoon while Aboubakar who was excused continued his demonstration of class.
The former Cotonsport man has scored 13 goals and made two assists in his past 15 games, dragging Besiktas into a top three finish in a season that only kicked off after his arrival during the January transfer window.
