Multiple Cameroon top-flight champions Union Sportive of Douala have unveiled Njisundey Olisse, Doumbou Gabin and Samuel Somb as their new signings ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The trio were confirmed as Union’s players for the upcoming season on Friday after the club flooded the social media with their photos upon completion of formalities for their arrival.

Forward Olisse joins from Rizierre of Noun while winger Doumbou has been cabled from rivals Fovu of Baham and Somb walks through the doors from Eding Sport de la Lekie on a mission to make the Nasara Gamakai tighter at the back.

The players have penned a two-year contract each on the recommendation of coach Jenny Nguegom.

Njisundey, 24, was top scorer in the West Regional championship last season while Doumbou and Sombou who are 22 and 23 respectively join as more experienced guys in the MTN Elite One championship.

Union Sportive of Douala fans endured a difficult 2022/23 season as they finished outside the title playoffs position which extended their trophy drought to 11 years and counting. They are hoping the new additions increase their chances of getting into the contenders sphere wherein they will challenge the likes of Cotonsport of Garoua and PWD of Bamenda who have been regulars in the business end of domestic football in recent years.

The new season gets underway in October but Union officials are working extremely hard to ensure they ready their club in time for the upcoming campaign.
