Simon Omossola has signed a new contract keeping him at historic Congolese side St Eloi Lupopo till the end of the 2025/26 football season.

The 25-year-old Cameroon international who had a running contract till the end of the current campaign earned a new deal via a series of outstanding performances for his club which has helped his club find a place amongst contenders for the LINAFOOT title.

Omossola, former keeper of AS Vita club had been negotiating a new deal with the club management until earlier this week when a decision was made.

The former Cotonsport and APEJES of Mfou keeper with experiences in Cameroon’s U-23 and intermediate Lions of Cameroon goalkeeper is therefore expected to extend his stay in DR Congo to six years, having moved to Vita Club in 2021 from Cotonsport of Garoua.

The move from the management of the club in the start of the new season highlights their plans about the Cameroon international who recently helped his nation qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) all be it as a back up.

Omossola, Simon Ngapandouetnbu and André Onana Onana have been Cameroon’s goalkeeping trio available for coach Marc Brys since he picked the job to lead the five time African champions.

Omossola’s goalkeeper poweress has been proven over the years to the extent that many are those who believe he needs just a chance to be able to assert himself wherever he plays.
