Royal Queens coach talks tough ahead of league opener

Heading to its third season in the top-flight Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership, the coach of Royal Queens says his team is set to pick a win in Osogbo against Osun Babes on Wednesday.

Coach Kingsley Joseph Ovie has exuded confidence in his lass to defeat Osun Babes in both sides league opener.

“We are prepared in top gear and ready to devour Osun Babes. By His grace, we are going to Osun State to conquer Osun Babes. Everybody at Royal Queens FC is fully prepared for the first game of the season.” Ovie told www.kick442.com.

The Canadian Geese prepared for the league opener with the Sheroes Cup pre-season tournament where the team finished in sixth position out of eight teams that participated in the tournament.

The gaffer explained that the club is going all out for a maximum of three points against the Omoluabi Babes.

He said: “The management have done their part. The Chairman of the club, Omatsola Sifo has done the needful and psyched the team up financially, morally, materially, and otherwise. The General Manager, Atari Asigbo has been up and doing.

“Everything that has to do with the team is done. The Team Manager, Mr. Kelly in his own capacity as the head of administration and management has done his best for our welfare and has certified the team in terms of health, food, and every medication.
The girls are ready. My Assistant Coaches have done the needful working tirelessly to see that the team is in top shape. We have done the needful with the fundamentals of the game. I believe we are intact to pick three points and three goals in Osun State.”

The Warri-based team with ten points from 12 games finished in the sixth position in Group B at the end of the 2021/2022 season.

The team will hope to surpass this feat a the end of the 2022/2023 league season.
