Rigobert Song has met up with his team on the pitch for the first time on Tuesday as he put them through their paces.
There were a couple of new faces at the Mundi Complex, with the likes of Regis Mughe, Njie Clinton and Harold Moukoudi all getting the call to be part of Song’s squad for the first time since his appointment in February 2022.
Other familiar faces in Vincent Aboubakar, Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa, Nouhou Tolo and returning Andre Onana were all geared up and ready for action in the wet conditions in the outskirts of Yaoundé.
Before getting to show the manager what they had out on the pitch, Mughe and Moukoudi limbered up with the rest of their new team-mates by performing stretches before moving on to the weights.
Then it was out into the cold where they were pitted against each other before taking part in some routine training drills.
There were smiles all around as team harmony seems to have peaked with the squad still riding the optimism being at their best when their backs are on the wall.
Song will be keen to maintain the positive attitude in their crucial game on Tuesday in Garoua as they need at least a draw to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) next year in Côte D’Ivoire.
Cameroon host Burundi at the Roumde Adjia Stadium where they will look to nullify the Swallows and reach a 22nd AFCON tournament.
Three days later, they will fly out to France where they will face current African Champions Senegal in a friendly.
