The Remo Referees Society on Saturday conducted its General Election at Gateway Stadium, Sagamu, Ogun State.
At the end of the election proceedings, new Executives emerged to pilot the ship of the referee society in Remo zone, Ogun State.
Awodein Bidemi was elected as the Chairman of the Society.
He replaced the immediate past Chairman, Engr. Oworu Adegboyega Samson.
Idowu Samuel was elected as the Vice Chairman while Showunmi Matthew emerged as the Secretary.
Other members of the Executives include Olapapo Sulaimon (Training Officer), Idowu Stephen (Financial Secretary), and Coker Kehinde (Publicity Officer).
The Executive will pilot the affairs of the council for the next four years from 2023 to 2027.
The council during the past administration witnessed tremendous success from the launch of the referee academy, the highest producer of referees in the council, launching of four different sets of uniforms, the invitation of young referees to the FIFA MA Course, the promotion of Referee Idowu Samuel to the Apex league (Nigeria Premier Football League), success at the Nigeria Referee Association (NRA) examination every year, to best performing young referees (Oworu Dunmininu, Oworu Daniel, and Awodein Samuel) at the just concluded state endurance test.
It’s hoped that this success will continue and take the council to a lofty height in the coming years under the new Executives.
