Potential Cameroon international François Regis Mughe made his first Ligue 1 appearance for legendary French side Olympique Marseille on Saturday, coming on as a 79th minute substitute less than a year after arriving at the club from EFBC in Cameroon.

Aged 18 years, 11 months and 17 days Mughe who looks destined to have a telling life in French football will never forget the unique night at the Stade François Coty. It wasn’t the result OM wanted, but for sure the club can take pride from the fact that they gave the young man a first Ligue 1 opportunity after his outstanding input in the French cup less than two months ago.

In all, Mughe featured thrice for the legendary French club this season, having arrived in July 2022 from EFBC which groomed him from the age of 13.

Marseille has another winger from the EFBC production which made Njie Clinton Mua for them and other French clubs some years ago.

Mughe was part of the Cameroon U17 national team of 2021, alongside Lillie’s Carlos Baleba Noom Quam and Dijon duo Aboubakar Dalbai and Jean Pierre Kamga.

His strides this season earned him a call up and two caps in the Cameroon’s U23 team that lost to Gabon in the final round Africa Cup of Nations qualifier but made it to the AFCON in Morocco via an office decision.
