PWD of Bamenda have completed the signing of experienced Cameroonian midfielder Mark O’Ojong Nkongho ahead of their 2023/24 MTN Elite One championship opener against Bamboutos FC of Mbouda this Thursday in Bafoussam.

The former Seattle Sounders midfielder has joined the Abakwa Boys on a one-year-deal from Vietnamese League 1 side Song Lam Nghe.

Close sources say O’Ojong put pen to paper this week after agreeing a deal with the management of the club and could make his debut as soon as coach Dieudonne Nke deems him ready to go.

A debut against former club Bamboutos FC of Mbouda this afternoon in Bafoussam is an option though the one-time San Antonio defensive midfielder is in no rush.

Whenever the one-time US Tatouaine man makes his debut, PWD will become the third Elite One championship side he will represent, having achieved his debut in the competition before traveling to the USA back in 2016.

The native of Tiko, Southwest Cameroon will bring a lot to the PWD dressing room.

O’Ojong arrives with international experience from the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) which he helped Cameroon reach the quarter-final.

The acquisition of 26-year-old is arguably PWD’s best business this window, though fans are expected to patiently accompany him and the team to their peak.
